Peacocks are the male members of the peafowl species, known for their vibrant and elaborate tail feathers, which they display during courtship rituals. These birds are large, with males reaching up to 60 inches in length, including the train of feathers. The train is made up of elongated upper tail coverts, not tail feathers, and features iridescent "eyespots" or ocelli. Peahens, the female peafowl, are smaller and less colorful, lacking the elaborate train.
